Rise Gives Back This Holiday (2021)

Over the past few years, Rise Respite Resource Solutions Inc. has made a conscious effort to support the community we serve through our fundraising efforts. Last year we were able to raise over $3000  that was all donated to various community organizations such as the Knights Table, The Mississauga Food Bank, Wilkson’s Mens Shelter, The Peel Family Shelter and the Delta Family Center. However, this year we have decided to focus on one specific family that we support. This particular family has faced many challenges.  Due to pandemic, this mother of two lost her job to illness, and is unable to work. As a result of this, her husband has become the sole breadwinner for the family. The stress of having to support two children with special needs has taken a toll on the family. Rise Respite was notified by the family that mom will have to have surgery right before the Christmas holiday, adding more stress to this already complicated situation. In the past, they have had to rely heavily on respite supports to navigate life. Funding challenges has effected this family greatly and due to the lack of resources, this family is under constant stresss as they have had to cancel respite support. The lack of consistency has had severe effects on the family dynamic and their overall health. This year we are going to provide free extended respite support services to help this family as our way of giving back as well as to help mom  with the much needed time to fully recover from  her surgery  so that she is able to support her children. Even though we all have faced many challenges with the Covid-19 pandemic, we can still find a way to help those in need. We are so grateful for the families that support us, and we hope that by providing respite support we can alleviate some stress for this family and give them the consistency they need at this time. Any donations given to Rise Respite this holiday season will go directly to this family and their respite fund.

Thank you ( 2021)

A big heartfelt thank you to all our supporters for helping us  to provide  respite supports to the McLaughlin family over the Christmas holidays.  The donations received went directly to help this family to sustain respite supports  while mom recovered from a very difficult surgery.  When funding cuts happens it  limited the family from having a quality of life that is necessary for all human beings.   Your donations were truly a blessing to this family and we are grateful to have  such a wonderful community of supporters that helps us so that we can continue to support  families in need.

 1st Online Auction & Fundraiser (2020)

Our 1st Online Auction & Fundraiser is over and we want to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone for taking the time out to bid, donate and share our event. Your bids and donations will make a difference for the youth in our community. The recent COVID-19 pandemic has been hard on many families, and even harder for youth in need of respite support services. Many programs have closed and others have restricted services. Thanks to you, youth and young adults will continue enjoying a safe place where they learn life skills, make art, form friendships with peers and build relationships with adult mentors, all while improving on many other essential skills. We look forward to your support for our next auction.
